How can
the Access bar be such a powerful personal “ally”? The details of
the science can be found in my write-up : “How does the Access Bar
Work?”available through Melaleuca. For our purpose here, let me
begin by saying that, unlike the views of many modern-day
clinicians who consider fat stores as burdensome, I view fat stores
as “metabolic assets,” essential for survival in nature. Before
civilization, whatever precious extra calories we could spare from
the “catch of the day” we turned into fax.

Early
in man’s history, we literally risked our lives against predation
to protect our fat stores. And, as with any other precious
possession, our bodies want to protect it against reckless wastage.
Physical exertions designed to burn fat- for example, long and
intense aerobic activities like running a marathon- are practiced
by wild species, because this is strictly wasteful and contrary to
survival. The dawning of civilization has enabled modern man to
accumulate fat- through regularly available nourishment - at will;
when obesity develops, measures are devised to burn or wasted fat
in the hope to regain leanness. However, wasting is against the
physiological nature of our bodies, and this s why shedding the
unwanted pounds has been proving to be so difficult for so many,
despite consistent and valiant effort; You cannot expect to win
when you work against the natural instincts of your
body.

The
technology behind the Access bar provides a new solution to this
seemingly insurmountable impasse between an overabundance of fat
stores yet stingy and frugal fat utilization. A metabolic
end-product form our own body called adenosine is the key molecule
that locks up fat, reduces muscle activity, and even makes the use
of sugar by the muscles less efficient. Adenosine comes from the
use of Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the universal energy currency
of our body. Each time we want our muscles to work, ATP must be
first spent, and adenosine is formed. The faster we use our ATP -
i.e. the heavier the exercise- the faster is the accumulation of
adenosine, and the more prominent is its inhibition on energy and
fat use. When fat is less available, more sugar has to be used to
regenerate ATP to fuel the exercise. Since lactic acid is
invariably generated when sugar is used, fatigue will set in soon
after.

order for adenosine to lock up the fat cells, nerve cells and
muscle cells, it must first combine with its specific receptors on
them. The receptors are like the keyholes of doors in your house:
We all know that if masking tape is placed over the keyhole, the
door can no longer be locked, despite the fact that you still have
the key in your hand. The Access technology employs naturally
occurring “adenosine receptor antagonists”-a kind of masking tape -
from food ingredients to deny the locking of the fat cells, nerve
cells and muscle by our own adenosine. With this measure, the
stored fat can continue to be used to support muscle activity
because ATP can now be regenerated through the inexhaustible
liquidation of our fat stores.

Because
fat is burned to carbon dioxide and water , not lactic acid is
formed. This will delay the onset of premature fatigue, and
minimize the pain and stiffness typically associated with exercise.
Unlike “energy bars”-which are basically supplying more sugar to
your body- the Access bar unlocks you fat stores and provides you
with an alternative and superior fuel - fat rather than sugar - to
fuel your activity. This is a revolutionary concept and the reason
protected by both U.S. and Canadian patents.

very pleased that the Access bar can be a part of the Walk Your
Talk program. For the 18+ years I had spend in researching the
physiology of energy and fat metabolism leading to invention of the
Access technology, I was hoping that someday my little invention
could enhance the fitness and health of others. The teaming of
